Avi files are too big in height for video streaming and it will eat your bandwith.
100mb avi file could be 15mb in flv file.
Im not the plugin coder so forgave me to add avi video support, but if you still want avi video support ask hana !
Have a good day,

Hello!
Flash (FLI) Players that are used within websites only support FLV format. As you can see, Flash player is a product Adobe and they do not intend to support AVI format at this time as long as I know.
Therefore you will need to convert AVI to FLV.
I use Any Video Converter. It is the easiest and has intuitive interface. And they have free version.
Here is the link

yeah avi loads so slow.. anyway its my client who just gives me these videos, so i have suggested him to make output as flv files.. Also i have a weird experience, this plugin is only for flv right? but guess what, I didnt realized one video was .mp4 and it plays fine using this hana flv player..
Also thanks for the link. I have been searching for a good converter but havent found one yet.. ill try this one out.
Oh, according to the Wiki, from Flash version 9, they support H.264 and MPEG4, mp4 extension.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Video
Specifically, Flash Player now supports video compressed in H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10), audio compressed using AAC (MPEG-4 Part 3), the F4V, MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), M4V, M4A, 3GP and MOV multimedia container formats, 3GPP Timed Text specification (MPEG-4 Part 17) which is a standardized subtitle format and partial parsing support for the 'ilst' atom which is the ID3 equivalent iTunes uses to store metadata. MPEG-4 Part 2 video (e.g. created with DivX or Xvid) is not supported.[13]
thanks hana!
so which is better to use flv or mp4?
I believe flv is better since mp4 is not supported in the previous versions. It is only supported by Flash version 9 and up.
