z_bart, I just updated Hana Flv Player to version 2.4. A new attribute
description
is added. You can set some descriptions for this attribute and it will be shown in the page where
the_exerpt()
function is used to show 'teaser' .

[hana-flv-player
    video="http://localhost/wp-content/plugins/hana-flv-player/babyhana.flv"
    width="400"
    height="320"
    description="Sarah is having fun in a merry-go-round"
    clickurl="http://localhost"
    clicktarget="_blank"
    player="4"
    autoplay="false"
    loop="false"
    autorewind="true"
    splashimage="http://localhost/wp-content/plugins/hana-flv-player/splash.jpg"
/]

See below capture for normal display and when
the_except()
is used.

As a workaround, I set my 'teaser' options in WP to show only the post title and link to the full post, without showing an excerpt of the actual text. When the post opens in its own window the player and text show up fine. So if you don't mind that only the title of your archived/teaser posts shows, the player works great.

Thank you. Do you know if it's possible for me to add the script tags back to the code in the teasers? Alternatively, will you be able to address this in a future version of the Hana FLV player? I really like the design of the player and would like to use it in my posts.

z_bart

z_bart, actaully I am not planning to make the flv player to work in the teaser or
the_excerpt()
output. That will probably break the original theme's layout.

I am thinking of adding an extra description attribute to use within the [hana-code-insert ] shortcode. So the description value will be used as output when
the_exerpt()
is used. Also, I will make this to be embedded within javascript or SWF objects , so the description can be seen by Search Engines.

Thanks and let me know if you have more ideas on this.

It appears that Hana FLV plugin does not work properly in teaser section. It appears that they remove the script tags and all. So I guess as a quick solution, I should remove the FLV player in the teaser area.

Thanks for the update.

Hello z_bart,
It should be working OK in the article teaser. Wait, you want it to disable the video in the teaser? Maybe I can add additional option to disable video in the teaser section.

Can you please let me know the URL ? I would like to check out myself for further review. You can always PM me the URL if you don't want to disclose.
Thank you.

Hi, thank you for this excellent player. I really enjoy the capability to customize. The player shows up and works fine in the post pages, but in the older posts, when they show up as teasers in my Wordpress blog, the player code shows up just before the article teaser. Can you recommend what to do so the code does not show in the teaser? Thank you!
For example:

flashembed(’hana_flv_flow_1′,
{ src:’http://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/hana-flv-player/flowplayer/FlowPlayerDark.swf’, wmode: ‘transparent’, width: 380, height: 300 },
{ config: { videoFile: ‘http://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/10.10.09-Spiz-30fps-Optimal.flv’, autoPlay: false ,loop: false, autoRewind: true, autoBuffering: false,
initialScale: ’scale’ ,showStopButton: true, controlsOverVideo:

}}
);

At the beginning of June [...]
